Bridge of Hope Greater Denver Changing Generational Poverty

February 05 17:01 2021

Denver, CO, USA – February 5, 2021 – Bridge of Hope Greater Denver uses its resources to change the lives of single mothers and children every day. Bridge of Hope embraces Christianity’s core values while lifting families out of poverty regardless of race, faith, or life experiences, truly bridging the gap between poverty and self-sufficiency. Bolstered by fundraising efforts and business partnerships, Bridge of Hope Greater Denver served 17 families in 2020, and they are able to continue to grow and provide assistance to those in need.

The program was started with the hope to make a lasting difference in generational poverty, helping women and children with nowhere else to turn. They work with single-mothers who are either homeless or nearing homelessness by providing career and budgeting guidance, rental assistance, and a stable support network. The moms are modeling financial responsibility and the value of hard work for their families. Children see what happens when you set and reach goals, and how to move forward when things don’t go smoothly and the power of second chances. Most importantly, families are learning that it is ok to ask for help.. Using a three-way partnership, families partner with professional staff and Neighboring Volunteers through local churches, they are taught the power of positive and healthy relationships. The Neighboring Volunteers embrace the call from the Gospel of Matthew 22:39 to “love thy neighbor as thyself.” They provide emotional support, guidance, and encouragement as the families work through the program.

Bridge of Hope hosted their 4th annual Denim and Diamonds Gala, held virtually on October 24th, 2020, due to COVID-19. A great success, the gala raised over $50,000 in funding, enough to sponsor four new families through the program for a year. All four families were enrolled last week.

Bridge of Hope will partner once more with the Arrowhead Golf Course for their Annual Golf Classic fundraiser on August 5, 2021, sponsored by Wall Development Group and Metrowest Real Estate.

In 2020, Bridge of Hope moved seventeen families out of homelessness, making tangible differences in the lives of those who they have helped. They have also made a difference in the lives of the many who will gain inspiration from stories of the women daring enough to ask for help and those who had the compassion to offer them the support they needed.
